Congratulations on your purchase of the REDD mobile phone. Your phone provides many functions which are practical for daily use, such as a hands-free loudspeaker, camera, MP3 player, video recorder, and more. Your phone can also connect to a PC, laptop, or other device using a USB data cable.
You can read the manual for complete knowing the use of the R8900 mobile phone and experiencing the well-established functions and simple operation method. Please use the original accessory in order to achieve the best use of effects, such as the use of non-original components of the damage caused by machinery, the company shall not be responsible.

Switch on Phone Safely
Please do not switch on your phone when it might have interference or danger by using phone or phone is forbidden in this area.
Pay attention to the traffic safety
According to the recent research, it may have danger to use phone when you are driving even though you are using the hands-free device (such as hands-free device in auto, earphone, etc.). The driver is required not to use phone when they are driving. When phone is switched on, the electromagnetic wave from phone will interference the electronic system of auto, such as ABS anti-explosion brake system or SRS (supplemental restraint system). For safety, please follow below:
· Do not put the phone on car control panel or ballonet area in car.
· Confirm with the auto distributor or manufacturer to make sure that electronic system of automatics have good isolation.
Interference
All kinds of phones may be interfered by environment, and then the performance of phones might be influenced. Phone may interfere with some electric appliance such as electronic TV, radiogram, PC and so on.
Turn off your cell phone in the site of medical and health care
Please switch off your phone in the site of medical and health care except some designated area where phone can be used. Phone will interfere with the running of electronic equipment, electron device or radio frequency device near around, just like the other usual equipment.
Switch off on airplane
Please follow the related regulations. Please switch your phone before boarding.
Switch off in gas station
Please switch off your phone when you are in gas station or any place where fuel and chemical have been placed.
Using phone correctly
Please use phone in normal position. Please do not touch antenna area if not necessary. SIM card can be taken out from phone. Please pay attention to prevent children from swallow the small component like this.
Do not let pregnant woman use phone for long time.
Accessories and batteries
Use only the approved accessories and batteries. Please do not connect with any product which doesn’t match with this phone. Please be sure the phone has been switched off before taking out battery. Please deal with the scrap batteries properly according to the local law.
Waterproof
The phone doesn’t have performance of waterproof. Please do not expose your phone in inclement weather or environment (such as wet, raining, liquid leakage, seawater, mirage, and so on).

Emergency calling
Please be sure your phone is power on and in the service available area. According to demands, press Call end key repeatedly to clear the content in screen and go back to standby mode, or press number key directly, then input emergency phone number. And then press answer key to describe where you are.

In the 26 English characters, w,e,r,s,d,f,z,x,c are also for number keys. Other characters keys are corresponding to the symbols. On the standby mode, press w,e,r,s,d,f,z,x,c will be numbers, when writing message they’ll be characters.
Alt key: switch the characters and numbers when writing message.

Key: go to a new line.
0-9 key on input or edit mode, input the number and symbols. After you setting speed dial number, holding 2-9 can be make a speed dial.
Note:in the idle, long press 1 to dial the Voice Mail (must define the voice message number in advance)
*, # keys have different roles in different menu functions:
In the standby mode, long press the # key to open or close the mute mode.
# Key: press # after the unlock key to unlock the keyboard.
* Key: on edit mode can press it to select the symbols;
in the number of dial-up interface, long press * key to enter the "+", longer press * key, you can enter the "P", "W" characters; which "P, W" to facilitate the extension to call; "+"for international calls.
Tip: The difference for "W, P","P” will have three seconds suspension and then send DTMF directly, “W” will show a window asking the user "if want to send DTMF".

1. Getting Started
Install SIM Card and Memory Card
SIM Card
Before using the phone, you must insert valid SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card in the phone. SIM card is provided by network supplier.
All the information related to network connection is recorded in the chip of SIM card, also the names, telephone numbers and SMS that storing in the Name of SIM card. You can take out SIM card from your phone, and use it in any GSM mobile phone (new mobile phone can read SIM card automatically).
In order to avoid losing or damaging the information saves in SIM card, please don’t touch the metal contact surface, and place SIM card at the place that away from electricity and magnetic force. Once SIM card is damaged, you can’t use the phone normally.
Prompt: Please make sure to power off the phone before taking out SIM card. It is absolutely forbidden to insert or take out SIM card with external power supply; otherwise it may damage SIM card and the phone.
Inserting and Taking out SIM Card

Metal contact surface of SIM card is easily scratched. You must take out SIM care carefully before the assembly.
Power off the phone, remove the rear cover, battery or other external power supply.
Make the end of SIM card with cutting angle inside and aim at the card slot of the phone and metal surface of SIM card face downward, then insert SIM card to the card slot of the phone, the other SIM card is also inserted in this way.
When taking out SIM card, directly pull it outward and then can take out SIM card.
Prompt: Without special explanation inserting two SIM cards are defaulted in the manual. If you just insert one SIM card, maybe some options of the menu will not be shown.
Memory Card

Aim at the memory card slot and push the memory card gently, and the card should be inserted correctly.
Prompt: If the memory card is failed, please check whether it is correctly placed and good contact of metal point.
Battery
Install the Battery

Take off the back cover of the mobile.
Make one end of battery with metal surface aim at the battery connector.
Then gently press the battery downward using the finger, and then press the other end to install the battery.
Prompt: Please operate correctly to avoid damaging the battery connector.
Note:
·Please switch off you phone before you remove or insert SIM card
·The plug-in SIM card and its contacts can be easily damaged by
Scratching or bending
·Keep your phone and its accessories away from children
n PIN
PIN (Personal Identification Number) is used to prevent your SIM card from being used illegally. PIN is usually provided with SIM card together. If you input wrong PIN for continuous three times, please input PUK to unlock it. Please contact with network operator for more details.
n PIN 2
You need to input PIN2 when entering some functions (such as call charge); if you input wrong PIN2 for continuous three times, you need to input PUK2 to unlock it. Please contact with network operator for more details.
n PUK
When changing the locked PIN, you need to input PUK (Personal Unlock Key). PUK is provided with SIM card together. If it is not provided, please contact with your service provider. If you input wrong PUK for continuous ten times, the SIM card can’t be used again. Please contact with your service provider to buy new card. You can’t change PUK. If you lose the code, please contact with your service provider.
n PUK2
When changing the locked PIN2, you need to input PUK2. If you input wrong PUK2 for continuous ten times, you can’t the functions that need PIN2. Please contact with your service provider to buy new card. You can’t change PUK 2. If you lose the code, please contact with your service provider
Insert T flash card
Slip the cover according to the “Openï” arrow to open the cover, and then put into the card. Slip the cover according to the “Closeð” arrow to lock the cover
Charging the battery
Battery level indicator
l Your mobile phone can monitor and display information about the battery.
l In the normal circumstances, you can know the battery capacity from the battery icon displayed on the upper right corner of the screen.
l When the battery is too low, “low battery” will show on the screen, also issued a warning alert tone if you choose alert tone in any mode- a warning tone by profile setup
l When you charging, the battery icon will change until the battery is full
Use the travel charger
n Insert the battery to the phone before you charging the battery
n connect the travel charger adapter and handset charge slot; Certainly must guarantee inserts well
n Connect the travel charger to the plug
n It is normal phenomenon that the battery getting a little heat when you charging
n When finish charging, the icon of battery will stop change
Note :
l Please ensure the charge plug, USB plug is in right plugging directions, otherwise it can’t be charged or cause some other troubles.
l Must ensure the voltage and power of your charger match the local standard frequency and voltage.
In order to enable the battery to achieve the optimum performance, please observe following rule:
l Only use the approved batteries and charger.
l Please switch off the phone before you remove the battery
l Charging the battery until full if it is new battery or not use for long time. If the battery is too low and can’t switch on the phone, the battery icon only will be able to change after charging a long time.
l Keep the battery at room temperature or near room temperature when charging
l Do not use the battery if there’s any smell or overheating during charging, using or storing, or the batteries is discolored or deformed
Note: For your safety and environment, do not discarded the battery anywhere
Warning: Any forms battery short circuit has the possibility to create explodes, the fire or the person injury
2. Quick User Guide
2.1. Feature Functions
The phone has not only the basic functions of mobile phone, but also support rich, practical and rapid feature functions, can be briefly introduced as follows:
n Name: Each Name record stored in the phone can be related with several telephone numbers at most; can send SMS and MMS in the Name; you can copy Name record between SIM card and the phone.
n Profiles: Customize the profiles (include ringtone settings, volume adjustment, incoming call tone, message tone, alarm tone, key-press tone, low voltage warning tone, power-on and power-off tone) according to different events or environment.
n Call log: The phone will automatically store the information of call log for you to check; support to call the telephone number in the call log; support to save the telephone number in the call log to Name and set as rejected call; support the function of sending SMS, MMS, and etc. to the telephone numbers in the call log.
n Message: The phone supports storing SMS/MMS. The maximum capacity of each MMS should be 100KB.You can individualize various settings to MMS. The phone supports the storing status of SMS in SIM card and the phone.
n Multimedia: Your phone provides all kinds of entertainment services including Audio/Video player, Audio/Video recording, and other functions.
n Camera: The phone supports camera and video function. You can customize the camera and video.
n Network services: The phone supports WAP services. Using WAP browser to access and enjoy wireless network, obtain rich information.
n System settings: You can customize the phone according to the needs, include phone settings, display settings, call settings, security settings and other functions.
n Input method: The phone supports various input methods, which is convenient for you to input English, letters, numbers, symbols, and etc.

In standby mode, press numerical keys to input phone number to dial, and then press calling key to dial a call.
Press left soft key during a call; there are hands free call, handset/Bluetooth,Name, message, call log, begin to record and mute for your selection:
Reject a Call
You can press Call end key to reject an incoming call.
When an incoming call arrives, the phone will give out the corresponding prompt (such as vibration, ringtone, and etc.); if network support, the phone screen will show the name and telephone number of the caller; at this time, you can press Calling key to receive an incoming call.
After finishing a call, you can press Call end key to end a call.
You can directly dial emergency service call without SIM card.
Different network uses different emergency numbers, please consult your network operations company for more details.
After inputting telephone number, if you want to input branch number, please press “P” key, input your extension number after the display screen shows “P”. After getting through the call, it will directly dial the extension.
You can enter call log to check the relevant details of dialed calls, missed calls, received calls and rejected calls.
Prompt: The record of incoming call from blacklist number will be saved in Rejected Calls.
After call forward function is started, according to different forward conditions settings (Call Forward Unconditionally, Forward Busy, Forward No Answer, Forward Can Not Reach), you can select to switch the incoming call to voice inbox or other telephone numbers.
After call waiting function is started, when you are calling, the other call can be put through.
After call barring function is started, according to different restricted conditions settings (all the dialed calls, all the incoming calls, incoming calls when roaming, dialed international calls, outgoing international calls when roaming), you can restrict the call under the corresponding conditions (need to apply to network operator for business).
In the standby mode, press and hold Call end key to power off the phone.
Input method
It supports normal English input method, smart English input method,
Number input method and symbols input method.
After go into the edit window (include phonebook edit, message edit, memorandum ;) input method icon show up :

General operation for English input
n Every key has its corresponding letter, repeat until the letter you are looking for shows up. After the cursor moved, input next letter.

You can edit new message in this menu
First input the new message, press “option” to choose:

n Use Template:to insert Idiom that saved before
n Insert Object:insert picture, sounds, animations into the message
n Format Text:define the format of the message text
n Insert Number:insert the number which saved in the phone book
n Insert Name:insert the name which saved in the phone
n Insert Bookmark : Insert the bookmark which saved in phone or new
n Input Method:to switch the input method
Inbox
Inbox have SIM 1 and SIM2, when you have a new SMS, the screen will show up
icon,please delete SMS when inbox is full, and otherwise you cannot get new SMS
Choose “inbox” option, the message from inbox will show up on the screen, with
icon there is new message.
Press “yes” to view the message, after press “options” to choose this options:
n Reply:reply the message to sender
n Delete:to delete the current message
n Forward:Forward the text message to others.
n Copy to Phone:to copy the message to phone
n Move to Phone:to move the message to phone
n Delete All::to delete all messages in Inbox
n Copy all:copy all the message from inbox to SIM card or to the phone
n Move all:move all the message from inbox to SIM card or to the phone
n Use Number:to edit the sender’s number, to dial or to save to phonebook or SIM card
n Use URL: pick up URL in the message
n Use USSD: pick up USSD in the message
n Chat: Use message chatting with others
Outbox
u Choose “outbox” option , the message from outbox will show up on the screen
u Press “yes” to view the message
u after press “options” to choose this options;
n Sending:Sending the current message
n Edit:to edit the content of the message

n Move to Phone:to move the message to Phone

Save some frequent used terms to avoid typing in the same terms many times. It can be edited or deleted
SMS setting
Finish message setting before using the function, go into Message settings menu
n Profile Setting:Select appropriate mode for message. Different mode has different setting for folder name, service center number, expired date, form and other features.
n Common Setting:To set Reply pass, set the status report at ON, then you will be able to see the receiving status of the messages you have sent out.
n Memory Status: To show the memory status of SIM card and phone
n Preferred Storage: To select to save in Phone or in SIM card
MMS
Your phone support send and receive MMS, you can send picture, sound and text by MMS
Write message
After you choose new message and input the message
To :Send to the phone number, E-mail
Cc :send MMS to others
Bcc:Other people cannot see the when you sending
Subject:Edit the subject of this MMS
Edit content: Can input the message, insert picture, sound, and file, video
Press “yes” after you edit message
§ Edit : edit the current MMS
§ Send :send the message
§ Save and send :save the message to outbox
§ Save to draft: save this message to draft
§ Use Details::setting of send messages
Press “send” or “save and send”, input the number or choose the number from phone book, press yes to send.
Inbox
To receive MMS into the inbox list, show information has been received, press the left soft key "Options" on the operations:
n View : view the MMS
n Reply:reply the MMS to sender
n Reply all: reply the MMS to sender, cc
n Forward:Forward the MMS to others
n Delete:to delete the current MMS
n Delete All::to delete all messages in Inbox
n Use Number:to use the sender’s number
Outbox
Choose “outbox” option, the message from outbox will show up on the screen, after press “options” to choose these options:

Ø sending/repeat :send the current MMS to other ,if cannot send the “repeat” will show up
Ø Delete:To delete the current MMS.
Ø Delete All::to delete all messages in Inbox
Ø Use Number:to use the sender’s number
Draft
The MMS save in the draft after edit, after press “options” to choose these options:
Ø View : view the MMS
Ø sending :send the current MMS to other
Ø Edit: edit the current MMS
Ø Delete:To delete the current MMS.
Ø Delete All::to delete all messages in Inbox
Ø Use Number:to use the sender’s number
Sending
Choose “sending” option, the message from sending will show up on the screen, after press “options” to choose these option:
l View : view the MMS
l Forward:Forward the MMS to others.
l Delete:to delete the current MMS
l Delete All::to delete all messages in Inbox
Message Setting
ü Send: You can set the time of validity, sending report, read returns, priority, internal time, delivery time
ü Receive: You can set up the main network, roaming network, send the read report, to allow sending of the report
ü Filter:to set the filter while receiving
ü Server Profile:to set the network service
ü Memory Status:to show the memory status of the MMS
Chat
Use message chatting with others
Start chatting
Voicemail Server
Edit: to add/edit the voice mail box number to speed up when using the function
Connect to Voice: to connect with the voice mail box to listen to the messages
Broadcast message
This network service allows you to receive various information, such as weather or traffic information. This feature is required to provide broadcasting services networks.
ü Receive Mode: to switch on/off the broadcasting function
ü Read Message: to select the menu to access to the broadcasting message you ordered
ü Language: to select the language for broadcasting
ü Channel Setting: to select the channel for broadcasting
Phone book
500 entries can be stored in the phone. The capacity of SIM card depends on the cards. Look up all entries by entering the phonebook; support 4 numbers under each name
Select an entry in phonebook and choose “Option”. You can do the following operations:
n Call: can choose SIM card 1 or SIM card 2 to dial a call
n IP call: can choose IP call on SIM card 2 or SIM card 1
n send SMS:Send message to this entry
n send MMS:Send MMS to this entry
n view:View the details of this entry
n edit:Edit the entry
n delete:Delete this entry from phone book
n copy:Copy this entry to SIM card from phone, and copy the entry to phone from SIM card
n move:Move this entry to SIM card from phone, and move the entry to phone from SIM card
n send V card :Send the entry as a vCard by SMS.MMS or save to file
n Print :Connect the external instrumentation
· Quick search
Enter the surname or first letter of name, it will display the correlative entries. Press the up and down key to view the history, press the call key to dial a call
· Search Contact
Input the name you need, enter the surname of name or input the first letter of name you need, Press “option” soft key, choose “searching”, press “ok” soft key to search for it in the phone book till you get the best result, press call key to dial a call
· Add new Contact
You can add a new entry to phone, SIM card. Make sure the card is inserted in your phone when you want to store entries in card:
To SIM 1 : Under one entry you can input the information: name, phone number;
To SIM 2:Under one entry you can input the information: name , phone number;
To the phone:Under one entry you can input the information: name, phone number, home number, company name, E-mail, office number, fix number, birthday, picture, and sound and caller group
· Delete
Delete the entries one by one in phonebook .SIM card 1 and SIM card 2, or delete all entries in phonebook .SIM card
· Caller groups
You can choose the ring tone and picture, add the group’s member and edit name.
· Extra number
You can setup aircraft number, the service number and the urgent number
· Phonebook Setting
Memory status: Show memory status of, SIM 1, SIM2 or to the phone
Preferred storage: you can choose your preferred storage
Fields: set the number fields
My V card:Edit and send my v card or send by SMS, Bluetooth also can save in the folder
V card version:Selection of V Card version
Calendar
Going to Calendar menu, press OK to show date. Press Option to go into sub menu:
n View task:set a new task
n Add new task: Add new arrangement.
n Jump to date: jump to selected date from current date.
n Monthly task:check the task per month.
Web
Homepage
In the idle, select [Menu/Services/WAP/Homepage]; you can logon on the homepage web. If you did not set it, you can logon on the default page.
Bookmarks
In the idle, select [Menu/Services/WAP/Bookmarks] to display the
bookmarks in the list. Select someone and press Left Soft key to
display the submenus: Go to, Edit, Delete, Delete All, Add Bookmark and
Set as Homepage.
Go to: connect the network service.
Edit: Edit the title and address of the current bookmark.
Delete: Delete the current bookmark.
Delete All: Delete all the bookmarks.
Add Bookmark: Edit the title and address of a new bookmark.
Recent Pages: use to display the recent page records. You can visit them convenience.
Enter Address: Input the URL address and then access to them.
Service Inbox: save the WAP message

Gallery
In the idle, select [Menu/Multimedia/Gallery] to display the phone and memory card (Please inserted the card firstly). It will display the storage on the top of the interface. Press Left Soft key to display the submenus: Open, Create Folder and Format.
Open
If the designated project folder, press Options soft key select option:
1>Open :Display the content and files;
2>Create Folder: Create a new folder and edit the name of the folder;
3>Rename: Rename the name of the folder.
4>Delete: Delete the current folder.
5>Sort: sort the files and folders from USB key. If you select a file; press Left Soft key to display the submenus. The submenus will be different from the files select option:
ü View /play:view or play current folder
ü Forward: forward the file to the designated place;
ü Details: List the date and the specified file size
ü Rename: Rename the name of the current folder.
ü Copy file:copy the file to designated place;
ü Move file:move the file to designated place
ü Delete: Delete the current folder.;
ü Delete all file :delete all file from the folder
ü Sort: sort the files and folders from USB key. If you select a file; press Left Soft key to display the submenus. The submenus will be different from the files select option:

- Lcd Backlight: adjust the backlight time.

SIM 1/SIM2 Call settings
Caller ID:
Network operators may choose to provide the system default, hidden numbers and send the number.
Note: This feature is network-related, if you choose to "hide numbers" may lead to a dial-up. Use of this feature after the tests;
Call waiting :
Switch on :Switch on call waiting function. Select it to show current waiting status. If you use this function, if anyone in the call dials your cell phone, the network will provide you with a warning, another calling. phone number will displayed on the screen at the same time
Switch off :If cancel this function, the network will not provide warning you when you have other calls
Inquiry: This feature is used to query the current state of the network
Call Divert:
Ø Divert All Voice Calls: when Divert all voice is on, all calls will be diverted to the number you set for.
Ø Divert If Unreachable: when Divert if unreachable is on, calls that made when you are out of touch will be diverted to the number you set for.
Ø Divert If No Answer: When Divert if no answer is on, calls that cannot be connected will be diverted to the number you set for.
Ø Divert If Busy: when Divert if busy is on, calls that are made when your phone was occupied will be diverted to the number you set for
Ø Divert All Data Call: to divert all data call
Ø Cancel All Divert: to cancel all divert
Call barring
You need use network password restrictions to Setup this function, if the password is incorrect, will prompt an error message. Required for the selected option, continue to choose to open or closed, the phone will require the importation of prohibited password, and connect to network
Ø Outgoing calls :
n All dialed calls :if you use this function, can not dial all calls
n International calls :if you use this function can not dial international calls

Closed user group:To switch off the User group function
uCall Time Reminder: to set whether to have minute reminder at end of each minute during calling

uAuto Redial: when Auto redial is on, every failed call will be auto redialed.

Blacklist - Set whether to activate the incoming call filter, and edit the blacklist.
Auto redial - You can select to redial the number automatically when a call is not connected.
Speed dial: Speed dialing allows you to make a call by pressing and holding a number key when on the idle screen. You may assign the numbers ranging from 2-9 to your phonebook contacts.
Background Sound: To choose the background sound during a call to open, close.
Call time display - After setting this function on, you can view the call time displayed on the screen.
Call time reminder - After setting this function to ‘on’, it will offer a warning tone towards the single or periodic setting as your own during the call process, so you
will be reminded of the call time at periodic intervals during a call.
Auto Quick End: By setting a time of the call automatically hang up.
Network Setup
Network selection:
· New Search: The phone will select a new network automatically.
· Select Network: The phone will search and display the list of known networks for you to select the desired one, after which, the phone will try to log in the selected network. If the selected network is registered successfully, it will prompt so.
· Selection mode: 1)Automatic-Automatic search for respective network of the SIM card 2)Manual: Search of all networks currently available
· Preferences: Stored a few of your favorite network.
Security Setup
n SIM Lock: Choose security setting under this Menu to avoid unauthorized usage of mobile phone or SIM Card. PIN number setting can avoid unauthorized usage of SIM Card
n Fixed Dial: With the SIM card’s support, you can choose to dial only the limited phone number.
n Barred Dial: on the contrast to Fixed Dial, you can set the barred numbers from calling.
n Phone Lock: Ph one lock can avoid the unauthorized usage of your mobile phone. Select Phone Lock to switch on the pin number protection.
n Auto Keypad Lock: Setting the waiting time to lock the keypad. After setting is done, the keypad will be auto locked after the setting waiting time
n Change Password: to change the password. It includes setting for PIN, PIN2and mobile phone password

3. Care and Maintenance
Maintenance of battery
·Your device is powered by a rechargeable battery. It is necessary to have the battery charged when it is going to wear out. The full performance of a new battery is achieved only when it is fully wore out.
·Unplug the charger from the electrical plug and the device when not in use. Do not leave fully a charged battery connected to a charger over a week, since overcharging may shorten its lifetime.
